Symonds restaurant, bar and bistro is a unique place to eat in Failand, near Bristol. Located within the magnificent Redwood House at Audley (a white stone building opened in 2017) the restaurant offers delicious British meals with a continental twist.

The same building houses a bar, bistro, a private dining room, a restaurant with terrace (all known as Symonds at Redwood) and the Audley Club with a luxury spa and swimming pool.

Symonds at Redwood is a hub of fresh seasonal produce in just a few minutes driving from Clifton. We use local suppliers such as:

Bath Ale, Harveys of Bristol, Cheddar from Cheddar Gorge and the award-winning Chew Valley Smokehouse.

Visit us to enjoy these prestigious brands on the seasonal menus and enjoy the spectacular views on the manicured gardens. Please consider booking in advance so that we can offer you the most suitable table.

Our coffee blend is Rainforest Alliance Certified. The Rainforest Alliance helps to protect forests, improve the livelihoods of farmers and forest communities, promote their human rights, and help them mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis.

The restaurant is set on the edge of the Ashton Court Estate, which was once the graceful home of the Smyth family. It is now a historic park just minutes from Bristol, within a stone’s throw of the training ground for Bristol City Football Club.

Ashton Court Estate covers an expansive 850 acres of woods and grasslands, including one of the country’s oldest deer parks, and is a must visit for anyone interested in magnificent ancient oak trees and wildlife.

Symonds at Redwood is close to the charming village of Failand and its quaint neighbour Lower Failand. A short drive away is the Old Bristolians Rugby Club and the Victorian Gothic Revival estate of Tyntesfield, a Grade I* listed building recently acquired by the National Trust.
